For the last 15 years, Makani has been to shaping a boards for himself and his friends.   Makani grew up in Kauai and started out as a contest surfer.  His fatther Kenny Tilton got him started on shaping.  Now that his contest career is over he is shaping full time.  From the experience he has a competition surfer, he knows firsthand what customers want in a high-performance surf board.
